Correcting scoliosis without pain
Rigid braces to correct scoliosis are not only physically painful, but also a source of psychological pain for the predominantly adolescent female population affected by this spinal deformity. With a prompt from an innovative and almost invisible “smart” garment, young girls with training from a physiotherapist might correct their own posture without braces, thus halting or reversing spinal damage. By extension, not only are 800,000 children affected by the onset of scoliosis each year, but also there are many adults suffering from posture disorders that might benefit from the “smart” garment.
